Lets your customers pay by credit or debit card, by SEPA Direct Debit and by iDEAL (and, if you like, PayPal through Mollie), and keeps their card or mandate so renewals are charged automatically.

What you need

  • A Mollie account with the methods you want activated (card, SEPA Direct Debit, iDEAL).
  • Your Mollie API key: test_… while you try things out, live_… for real payments.

Set it up

Add it first: under Admin → Products → Modules, open the Library tab and choose Add on Mollie Payments. A tenant that used it before the Library existed has it added already.

  1. Go to Admin → Settings → Payment Gateways.
  2. Enter the Mollie API Key on Credit card. It is saved as the Mollie module's connection, so SEPA and the other Mollie methods use the same key. It is stored encrypted and shown as ******** afterwards. (The same key is under Admin → Products → Modules → Mollie → Configure, with Test connection.)
  3. Tick the methods on and save. Teculiar checks the key with Mollie as it saves. iDEAL starts off; tick it to offer it to customers paying in euros.
  4. Optional: open a method's Rules to offer it only for some currencies, customer countries, invoice totals or products — for example iDEAL only for customers in the Netherlands.
  5. Make sure Mollie Payments is switched on under Admin → Products → Modules.

What it does for you

  • Card: the customer pays on Mollie's page and comes back to a paid invoice; the card is kept for renewals.
  • SEPA Direct Debit: the customer gives their IBAN once. The mandate is accepted straight away, so they get what they bought at once, while the money arrives over the next few days.
  • iDEAL: the customer picks their bank on Mollie's page and comes back to a paid invoice. It is not kept for renewals.
  • Renewals are charged to the saved card or mandate automatically, unless a rule you set keeps the method off that invoice (the renewal is then left for the customer to pay).

When it is switched off

Card and SEPA disappear from checkout. A payment already started is not marked paid until Mollie confirms it — it waits for you as a parked payment — and saved cards and mandates are not charged. Nothing is deleted; switching it back on resumes.

Before it goes off, Disable shows what it runs — services, domains, saved payment methods — and, for a payment module, the customers who renew through it, as a list you can download. Once it is off you can Remove it: its connections and their credentials, its server groups and its settings are deleted, and it goes back to the Library. Services, domains and products that name it stay, handled by hand. The rows under Payment gateways keep their names and switches, without the keys.
